PSA initiatives ensure accessible PhilSys services for all

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) ensures that services of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) are accessible to all Filipinos.

PSA Usec. Mapa visits the mobile registration activity conducted in Purok Lawayan, Barangay Banago in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

In Negros Occidental, PhilSys services were brought in various parts of Bacolod City. Residents of Purok Ceres and Purok Zone 7 in Barangay Handumanan, and Purok Lawayan in Barangay Banago were able to avail PhilSys services through the mobile efforts in their respective locations.

Children from Barangay Handumanan in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental were among the residents who were able to avail PhilSys services such as registration.

Children accompanied by their parents were among the residents who were able to register to PhilSys through the mobile registration activities, which included the use of PhilSys on Wheels. The issuance of ePhilID was also offered if the registration was confirmed successful.

The efforts yielded a combined total of 61 registrations and 64 ePhilID issuances.

Registered persons in the said locations were also provided assistance with tracking PhilID delivery, requesting the replacement of PhilIDs with peeled-off photos, and updating of demographic information, as part of its gradual implementation.

The mall-based registration center at Gaisano Grand City Central also remains open to locals seeking any of the services of PhilSys.

Through efforts to make PhilSys services convenient and accessible to all across the country, a total of 83,640,353 Filipinos have already registered to PhilSys, and 43,559,851 ePhilIDs have been issued as of 26 January 2024.

“The PSA, through its offices in all regions and provinces, strives to continue making PhilSys services available for Filipinos from all walks of life,” said PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, who joined the efforts of Provincial Statistical Office – Negros Occidental in providing PhilSys services to residents of Bacolod City.

“We assure the public that all PSA personnel—whether through our fixed registration centers, or mobile and institutional sites—are ready to offer assistance needed.”
