Reference Number : 2023-251

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to bring Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration services to returning and departing overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Signed by PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, and DMW Secretary Maria Susana V. Ople in the presence of DMW Undersecretary for Finance and Internal Management Maria Anthonette C. Velasco-Allones and PhilSys Registry Office (PRO) Officer-in-Charge Deputy National Statistician Fred S. Sollesta, the MOA enables the PSA to colocate at the DMW office in Mandaluyong, along with its sub-department and agencies, regional offices, and one-stop service centers for OFWs nationwide.

Through the colocation sites, OFWs can register to PhilSys, claim their ePhilID, relay queries to the assigned personnel from PSA and DMW, and obtain PhilSys-related information materials.

“On behalf of the PSA, I would like to extend my gratitude to the DMW for this collaboration to make PhilSys services more accessible to our OFWs,” Usec. Mapa said. “Through this joint effort, we look forward to registering OFWs and providing them the benefits of being PhilSys-registered.”

The partnership is part of the ongoing efforts to register the last mile of the population. As of 28 July 2023, 80,194,464 Filipinos have already registered with PhilSys.
